BALTIMORE, MARYLAND—Premier Concrete is working with Lewis Contractors to construct a state-of-the-art Learning Activity Center and residential cottages for The Maryland School for the Blind. This construction is part of a multiphase campus improvement project for several new academic and residential buildings on The Maryland School for the Blind campus.

Joining the project in July 2013, Premier’s responsibilities include concrete foundations, concrete walls, slab on grade, slab on deck and other miscellaneous site work for the 32,000 square-foot Academic Building and 26,000 square-foot Cottage Building.

Premier Concrete’s long history with Lewis Contractors includes other notable projects such as the renovation of Everyman Theatre in Baltimore City’s Arts and Entertainment District in 2012, and the Carey Hall renovation and Kindergarten building at the prestigious Gilman School.

“Lewis Contractors is one of the most highly respected contractors in the Baltimore area. They offer superb supervision and have excellent project management,” says Premier Concrete Vice President Steve Workmeister. “We have been working with Lewis Contractors since 2002 and consider them a valued partner. We are thrilled every time Lewis Contractors award a project to us.”

The Maryland School for the Blind serves 73 percent of the 1,800 students identified in Maryland as blind or visually impaired from birth to 21 years old.
